Music awakens in all of us the hidden language of the soul and can stir a person to deeper spiritual consciousness, conviction or commitment. Music today is everywhere it seems — found in elevators and concert halls, in bath tubs and super bowls, on front porches or in movie theatres. But music's real home is the human heart. We are, without a doubt, intrinsically musical. Children are born with the impulse. It is obvious, is it not, that our musical instinct arises from divine imprint. In creation, God must have stirred the heavens and awakened the skies with the reverberation of His own song now echoing in the hearts and minds of men.

The Bible came to us not in collected theological postulates or didactic constructs but in narrative, poetry, parable, proverb and yes in song. The throne room of God, we believe, is filled with an angelic army of musicians — musicians on a mission to serve the will of God, to expand His Kingdom and to give Him glory. We believe that the connection between music and the mission of God in the world is not to be lost.

The Christian music industry, for its many benefits, is not structured to support musicians who prioritize their use of music in front-line ministry. Justice Road Productions is an attempt to assist poet-prophets wherever they are to gain greater exposure not only to their music, but to the mission their music is tied to.

In Mo Leverett, Justice Road Productions has discovered an invaluable template of how the art of music and the craft of ministry converge. Mo, completely surrendering his life to serve the poor, moved to New Orleans and into one of the most challenging neighborhoods in the country where he began Desire Street Ministries, an urban work with a vision for spiritual and community development. He has since founded and now runs Rebirth International, an organization committed to advancing urban ministry initiatives stateside and worldwide. It is out of the depth of his sacrificial life that Mo writes his music.
